Morgan Hill City Council

Morgan Hill police now offer vacation home checks to residents who leave town temporarily, in order to reduce the opportunity for burglaries and other residential crimes.

The service will start this month, and is coordinated by the city’s Volunteers in Policing program, which the police department initiated last year, according to Morgan Hill emergency services director Jennifer Ponce.

Vacation checks are available to Morgan Hill residents who are taking a vacation or extended trip for more than three days, Ponce said. The patrol checks will occur as time permits, and will focus on front and side yards.
