Police blotter: Two cited on suspicion of shopping cart theft

Theft

A customer of Wal-Mart, 170 Cochrane Plaza, dropped some items he was apparently trying to conceal as he was leaving the store, according to police reports. The incident was reported 2:52 p.m. Dec. 12.

A woman stole about $100 worth of groceries from Safeway, 235 Tennant Station. The theft was reported 3:44 p.m. Dec. 12.

A thief stole a package containing about $550 worth of contents that was left at a residence on Mission Avenida. The crime was reported 8:03 p.m. Dec. 14.

A customer at Big 5 Sporting Goods, 150 Cochrane Plaza, walked out of the store with a pair of Adidas basketball shoes without paying for the item. The theft was reported 6:11 p.m. Dec. 18. 

Burglary

A thief or thieves broke into a home in Morgan Hill and stole an Apple laptop computer. The theft was reported 3:51 p.m. Dec. 12.  

Vandalism

Someone threw an object from an overpass crossing U.S. 101 at Cochrane Road, police reported. A victim who was driving north on the freeway was hit by the object when traveling under the overpass. The victim’s car, a Honda Accord, suffered a shattered sunroof from the incident, which was reported 8:54 p.m. Dec. 13.

Two middle school age juveniles broke a flag outside a barber shop on West First Street. When a witness chased them off, the juveniles threatened to come back and “get” the witness, according to police. The incident was reported 3:14 p.m. Dec. 17.

Two juveniles on skateboards tagged the front of the House of Poppy Jasper shop, 17450 Monterey Road, according to police reports. The vandalism was reported 5:49 p.m. Dec. 18.

Auto burglary

Someone broke the passenger window of a black Lexus on Chicory Lane and stole items including an Apple laptop computer, police reported. The crime was reported 9:58 a.m. Dec. 15.

A thief or thieves broke into a Honda Accord at an undisclosed location in Morgan Hill and stole golf clubs, work papers and a phone charger. The crime was reported 2:09 p.m. Dec. 15.

Disturbance

A landscaper with a leaf blower almost caused a three car accident by blowing a large amount of leaves into the roadway on Butterfield Boulevard between Jarvis Drive and Central Avenue, according to police reports. The incident was reported 12 p.m. Dec. 16.

Stolen vehicle

A victim went outside to turn on his 2006 black Honda Civic on Pistache Drive and went inside. When he came back out a few minutes later the car was gone. The theft was reported 7:09 a.m. Dec. 17.

A thief or thieves stole a blue 1997 Honda Civic from the 200 block of Burnett Avenue. The theft was reported 4:59 p.m. Dec. 17.

A black 2009 Toyota Corolla was stolen from the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 170 Cochrane Plaza. The crime was reported 3:06 a.m. Dec. 18.

A silver 2008 Honda Civic was stolen from The Residence Inn, 18620 Madrone Parkway, police said. The incident was reported 10:58 a.m. Dec. 18.

A 2014 camo green Kawasaki was stolen from a home in Morgan Hill. The theft was reported 11:48 a.m. Dec. 21.
