Suspicious circumstances
Someone called police to report what appeared to be a person hanging from a tree, but when authorities arrived on an emergency call they determined it was a stuffed mannequin, according to police reports. The property owner said they were planning to decorate the dummy with lights and use it as a holiday decoration. The incident was reported at 9:06 p.m. Dec. 9 in an unspecified location in Morgan Hill.
Theft
Two people stole a candy bar and ate ice cream without paying for it at the Chevron station, 851 Cochrane Road, according to police reports. The theft was reported at 4:21 p.m. Dec. 12.
Someone stole a Christmas wreath off the door of a home on the 1400 block of Windsong Place, according to police. The theft was reported about 1:15 p.m. Dec. 11.
Petty theft
A thief walked out of the Tennant Station Safeway grocery store with an 18-pack of beer, and left in a white Honda, according to police reports. The incident was reported 6:05 p.m. Dec. 14.
Someone stole two energy drinks and two bottles of pale ale from the Safeway grocery store, 235 Tennant Station, police said. The crime was reported at 8:28 p.m. Dec. 13.
Store security detained a subject who stole two bottles of Skyy vodka from Safeway grocery store, 235 Tennant Station, according to police reports. The crime was reported 5:36 p.m. Dec. 13.
The front license plate was stolen from a Chevrolet Camaro on the 17400 block of Ringel Drive, police said. The crime was reported at 11:55 a.m. Dec. 12.
Disturbance
Some people were shooting a paintball gun at a passing Oldsmobile Cutlass near Llagas Road and Hale Avenue, according to police reports. The incident was reported at 12:43 p.m. Dec. 13.
Burglary
Someone broke into a house on the 700 block of Oak Park Drive and stole Christmas presents and two diamond rings, according to police reports. The crime was reported 8:22 a.m. Dec. 15.
