Petty theft
A man was arrested twice in one day for allegedly being intoxicated at the Safeway grocery on Tennant Avenue, police said. In the first incident, the grocery store’s manager confronted the man while he was drinking in the store at 235 Tennant Station Way about 5:42 p.m. Sunday, according to police reports. The man put the bottle down and attempted to walk out, but employees managed to keep him in the store and called police. The man allegedly appeared intoxicated when he entered the store. Police arrived and arrested the man on suspicion of petty theft and public drunkenness.
Again Sunday, about 9:30 p.m., employees noticed the man in the store again, “stumbling around,” according to police reports. Police were called again, and the man was arrested again on suspicion of petty theft and public drunkenness.
