Tools stolen from pickup
Someone stole a paint sprayer and a tool box from a truck parked at Trader Joe’s grocery store, police said.
The owner of a Toyota pickup told police the items were stolen about 3:45 p.m. July 8, according to police reports. The truck was parked unattended in the parking lot of Trader Joe’s, 17035 Laurel Rd.
The value of the stolen items is about $2,800, police said.
No suspects have been identified.
Vehicle stolen from residence
A maroon 1989 Honda Accord was stolen from the 100 block of East Edmundson Avenue, police said.
The owner of the Accord reported the car stolen about 9:29 a.m. Sunday, and told police it was last seen parked outside the residence about 3 a.m.
The victim’s daughter left a purse containing a driver’s license and credit cards in the trunk of the car, according to police reports.
Couple falls victim to scam
A couple sent an unknown sum of money to someone claiming to be a lawyer who offered to help the Morgan Hill residents sell their Nevada time share, police said.
The victim told police that a Las Vegas lawyer claiming to represent “American Vacation Solutions” called the residence on the zero block of Encino Drive, according to police reports.
The lawyer said he could sell their time share for a $5,000 profit, and he would send them paperwork to fill out, police said. The couple paid an undisclosed amount in transaction fees, but when they tried to call the lawyer back the phone number was disconnected.
The case was referred to authorities in Clark County, Nevada, police said.
