Accident

<

A white Cadillac Escalade and black Land Rover collided in the area of Monterey Road and Cochrane Circle, causing a tree and utility pole to fall into the roadway. Traffic was diverted from the scene while emergency crews responded. The driver of the Escalade was transported to the hospital with injuries. The accident occurred at 12:08pm July 16.

Animal control

<

A horse was reported running loose in the area of Monterey Road and Tilton Avenue. Police called Santa Clara County Animal Control, which sent a horse trailer and personnel to the area to corral the animal. Authorities were able to contain the horse in the trailer and return it to its owner. The incident was reported at 3:13pm July 10.

Drunk in public

<

A man called police to report his girlfriend was intoxicated and was having difficulty climbing a hill near Anderson Dam off Cochrane Road. Fire and EMS arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital. The incident was reported 5:08pm July 18.

Reckless vehicle

<

Several cars were reported “driving on the sidewalk” and “hitting each other” in the area of Main Avenue and Monterey Road. Police responded and did not locate any accidents. The recklessness was reported at 4:37pm July 3.

Auto burglary

<

Someone broke into a black 2011 Chevrolet Cruze on Jasmine Way and stole a wallet from the trunk. The crime was reported 11:48pm July 4.

Three suspects tried to break into a vehicle parked on Ventura Court. The thieves fled the area in a green truck after the vehicle’s owner saw them. The crime was reported at 5:03am July 11.
A thief or thieves broke into a truck at California Inn, 16525 Condit Road, and stole tools. The crime was reported at 5:54am July 17.

Someone broke into a Dodge Ram pickup parked at Extended Stay America, 605 Jarvis Drive, and stole about $1,000 worth of tools. The crime was reported at 6:26am July 17.

A thief or thieves broke into a white Acura MDX parked at Community Park, 225 W. Edmundson Ave. A  leather purse was stolen from the vehicle, which was parked near the tennis courts at the time of the burglary, reported at 10:29pm July 13.

Petty theft

<

A suspect who has stolen “thousands of dollars” worth of baby formula from Safeway was arrested outside the store located at 235 Tennant Station. The man was cited and given a court date. The latest incident was reported at 9:20am July 5.

Someone stole about $567 worth of items from Target, 1061 Cochrane Road, including a Roomba-style vacuum cleaner and clothing. The crime was reported at 7:01pm July 6.

Grand theft

<

A homeowner on Barrett Avenue reported that someone had stolen $100,000 worth of cash from a safe in the house since July 4, 2017. The crime was reported at 5:48pm July 6.

Stolen vehicle

<

A thief or thieves stole a light blue 2006 Honda Odyssey from outside a hotel on Condit Road. The vehicle owner left the keys in the vehicle before it was stolen. The theft was reported at 10:57pm July 7.

Someone stole a white 2013 Honda Civic parked on Del Monte Avenue. The theft was reported at  9:04am July 8.

<

A black 2015 Lexus was stolen from a home on Espana Way. The crime was reported at 7:02am July 11.

<

Someone stole a 2002 Honda Accord from outside California Inn, 16525 Condit Road. The crime was reported at 5:11pm July 15.

<

A gray 2018 Honda Civic was stolen from the parking lot of Morgan Hill Athletic Club, 126 Cochrane Plaza. The victim told police that someone stole the vehicle’s key from inside a locker inside the gym. The crime was reported at 9:29am July 14.

Burglary

<

Police arrested a man who allegedly burglarized Paul’s Liquor store, 16715 Monterey Road. The crime was reported at 5:29am July 11.

Someone stole a victim’s keys from an unlocked locker at the Centennial Recreation Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave. The thief used the keys to access the victim’s vehicle, which was parked in the CRC parking lot, and stole the man’s wallet. The thief then attempted to use the victim’s credit card to purchase $400 worth of merchandise from Safeway grocery store. The crime was reported at 11:17am July 15.

A homeowner on Del Monte Avenue arrived home to find the door ajar and the deadbolt damaged. The burglary was reported at 6:44pm July 19.

Trespassing

<

Four male juveniles were seen running on the roof of El Toro Elementary School, 455 E. Main Ave. The trespassing was reported at 2:40pm July 15.

<

Theft

<

Someone stole building materials from a construction site in the area of Cochrane Road and White Moon Drive. The theft was reported 8:41am July 17.

<

Disturbance

<

A witness called to report racing vehicles, skating juveniles and loud music coming from the downtown parking structure, 50 E. Third Street. The disturbance was reported at 10:59pm July 12.
