  • Auto burglary: A resident of Sorrel Way reported his locked vehicle was broken into. The stereo and the CD player were stolen. The report was taken at 12:46pm.

  • Burglary: A resident of the Morgan Hill Apartment Trailers reported she offered someone a recliner in exchange for helping her move. The man never showed up, she told police, but went into the trailer when she wasn’t home and stole her couch, recliner and other objects. The report was taken at 6:57pm.

December 28

  • Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported his Volvo was broken into while parked at the Gold’s Gym on Jarvis Drive. The report was taken at 6:42am.

n Petty theft: A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported a stolen money order was cashed, and they gave police the name of the suspect. The report was taken at 3:14pm.

  • Petty theft: A clerk at the Farmer’s Market on Tennant Avenue reported she stepped out of the store to get something from her vehicle, and when she returned, someone had stolen her purse from behind the counter. The report was taken at 6:29pm.

  • Battery: A Morgan Hill resident reported she was punched in the ribs and kicked in the side by someone she knows. She said he also “pulled a knife” on her. The report was taken at 11:41pm.

December 29

n Auto burglary: A resident of West Dunne Avenue reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle. The purse contained $800, credit cards, ID and a checkbook. The report was taken at 12:43am.

  • Stolen vehicle: A resident of Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes reported his Chevy pickup was parked in the complex parking lot, warming up, when it was stolen. The report was taken at 6:58am.

  • Vandalism: A Morgan Hill resident reported his Honda Accord was “egged” overnight while parked at Vineyard Boulevard and Monterey Road. He told police the damage to the Accord is permanent. The report was taken at 11:10am.

  • Burglary: A resident of Darnis Circle reported she was away from home from Dec. 23, and when she arrived home, she found someone had entered the home through a downstairs window. A guitar was stolen, but she had not determined what else was missing at the time of the report. The report was taken at 11:29am.

  • Threats: A resident of Eagle View Drive reported she received a phone call from a female calling her vulgar names. She then said she received another call from the female’s brother, who said he was going to “get her.” The report was taken at 3:23pm.

  • Arrest: Patricia S. Yates, 34, was taken to county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence. The report was taken at 6:08pm.

  • Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported she left her purse unattended at the Cinelux Theaters in Tennant Station, and someone stole her cell phone and approximately $70 from her purse. The report was taken at 8:38pm.
