Vandalism

  • St. Timothy Place, 8:21am. Several front doors of the residences in the neighborhood were “kicked in,” several railings were broken and holes were punched in sheet rock.

Burglary

  • Live Oak High School, East Main Avenue, 11:30pm. A school custodian reported someone broke into a storage container on campus, but didn’t steal anything. The custodian reported he confronted two males with a backpack containing tools that were left at the scene.

Sept. 5

Auto burglary

  • Hale Avenue, 11:26am. A resident reported someone broke into their Nissan overnight. The convertible top was sliced, and the stereo was stolen.

  • Del Monte Avenue, 4:13pm. A resident reported someone stole the stereo from their vehicle.

Petty theft

  • East Edmundson Avenue, 1:20pm. A resident reported her mail was stolen for two weeks.

Identity theft

  • Juan Hernandez Drive, 3:20pm. A resident reported someone is using her upgraded credit card to charge approximately $8,000.

Trespassing

  • Blue Grass Court, 4:47pm. A resident reported four people were on her property taking yucca plants.

Burglary

  • Creekside Village Townhomes, Creekside Circle, 6:28pm. Someone entered the residence through a second-story window while the residents were out of town. A camera, money and DVDs were stolen.

Sept. 6

Burglary

  • Live Oak High School, East Main Avenue, 7:12am.

The boys’ locker room, which is under construction, was broken into, but it was unclear at the time of the report if anything was stolen.

Grand theft

  • A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals, East Main Avenue, 8:10pm. Someone rented a paint sprayer from the business in June and has not returned it although several attempts have been made to contact him.

Child abuse

  • Spring Avenue, 4:12pm. A resident reported her daughter-in-law left her 8-year-old and 10-year-old children home alone, and this is not the first time she has done this.

  • Gregory Allen DeMaria, 45, of Mammini Court in San Martin, 8:27am, Aug. 28 at the intersection of San Martin Avenue and Mammini Court, for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving without a valid license.

Driving without a valid license

  • Sonia Olivas, 29, of Cosmo Avenue in Morgan Hill, 4:30pm, Aug. 28 at the intersection of U.S. 101 and San Martin Avenue for allegedly driving without a valid license.

Other Sheriff Incidents

Assault with a deadly weapon

  • A San Martin man was stabbed in the chest by an unknown suspect on Murphy Avenue and taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center for treatment at midnight, Sept. 2. The unknown suspect is at large.

Stolen vehicle recovered

  • A 1986 Honda Civic stolen from San Francisco was recovered at 2:05pm, Sept. 1 at the intersection of Thomas Road and Luchessa Avenue in Gilroy.

Identity theft

  • An unknown suspect used an Uvas Road resident’s name and social security number and tried to make a $4,000 purchase from Dell Computers, Sept.3.

Burglary

  • Car parts worth $1,690 were stolen between 10pm, Aug. 27 and 9pm, Aug. 28 from Condit Road.

  • A laptop and a digital camera were stolen between 6pm, Aug. 28 and 6:15pm, Aug. 30 at the intersection of Denio and Radtke avenues in Gilroy.

Horse theft

  • A 25-year-old Arabian horse worth $10,000 was stolen from Paseo Robles in San Martin between 1pm, Aug. 28 and 2pm,

Vandalism

  • Esteban Ramon, 26, of Hollister, is suspected of vandalism. Ramon allegedly punched a bedroom door and kicked the fenders of someone else’s car, causing $1,500 damage, during an eviction at 11:45pm, Aug. 30. Ramon was at large as of Sept. 5.
