  • Butterfield Boulevard, noon. Tools and a wallet stolen from a locked vehicle at the construction site.

  • Shasta Lane, 5:14pm. Several wrestling mats were stolen from a locked Nissan pickup overnight.

  • San Benacio Way, 5:49pm. A resident reported someone broke into her Mercedes while she was picking up her kids at school. A window was shattered, and her purse was stolen.

May 12

Vandalism

  • Starbucks Coffee, Vineyard Town Center, 9:13am. An employee reported someone “tagged” the restroom.

  • Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes, East Dunne Avenue, 10:28am. A resident reported a suspect threw a brick through the rear window of his girlfriend’s car.

Theft

  • Mervyn’s department store, Cochrane Plaza shopping center, 7:02pm. A male suspect stole several pairs of jeans from the store.

May 13

Vandalism

  • Hayloft Way, 11:47am. A resident reported someone “keyed” their Nissan Altima.

  • Vietnamese Noodle House, Cochrane Road, 6:38pm. Someone kicked the glass door of the restaurant.

Burglary

  • Violet Boutique, Monterey Road, 3:25pm. Someone broke into the business and stole cash and items from the store.

May 14

Vandalism

  • Village Avante Apartment Homes, Cosmo Avenue, 8:18am. A resident reported three tires on a Dodge Ram truck were slashed overnight.

May 15

Vandalism

  • BSV Biosciences, Inc., Jarvis Drive, 12:36pm. A window of the business was shattered overnight.

Burglary

  • Alpine Recreation, Condit Road, 1:24pm. Someone broke into one of the RVs overnight.

Calle Verde, 2:21pm. A resident reported someone broke into the residence in the morning and stole several items.

Identity theft

  • Badger Pass Road, 2:01pm. A resident reported someone is using her identification information for accounts with two cell phone companies and a credit card company.

Sheriff Incidents

Drug paraphernalia

  • Carlos Manuel Lames, 40, of San Jose, 11:15am, May 11 at the intersection of Murphy and E. Middle avenues in San Martin, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Lames was also initially charged with possession of stolen property, after a laptop computer he owned came up stolen on a Sheriff’s Office database. Later, it was discovered that the computer had been entered into the database incorrectly and was not stolen, and the charge was dropped.

Criminal threats

  • Connie Rodriguez Ruiz, 36, and Irma Villareal Morelos, 51, both of Harding Avenue in San Martin, 10pm, May 8 at their address for criminal threats and probation violations. The two confronted a neighbor and threatened to burn the victim’s apartment and shoot him or her. Ruiz was also charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Assault and battery

  • A student spit on someone after a verbal argument 9:24pm, May 12 at Advent Boys School on Church Avenue in San Martin.

Marijuana

  • A student at South County Community School on N. Depot Road in San Martin was cited for marijuana possession at 10:20am, May 11.

Vandalism

  • A mailbox was knocked to the ground between 8am and 2pm on May 4 on Center Avenue in San Martin.

Vehicle burglary/vandalism

  • A $725 stereo was taken between Tuesday, April 17 and 7am Tuesday, May 8 from a vehicle parked near the intersection of Hale Avenue and Clark Court in Morgan Hill. Someone drilled out the ignition, then moved the vehicle to a different area. One suspect has been named: Enrique Vargas Cota, 48, of Hale Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Stolen vehicle recovered

  • A 1995 Honda Civic, stolen from San Jose, was recovered at 9am on May 1 on Monterey Road in San Martin.

Vehicle theft

  • A silver 2000 Honda Civic was stolen between 6:45am and 6:30pm on April 30 from the Caltrain station parking lot on Monterey Road in San Martin.

Dog attack

  • A man shot his neighbor’s pit bull when the dog attacked him while he was riding his tractor lawn-mower at 10am, May 13 on Llagas Avenue in San Martin. The pit bull was wounded. Animal Control has taken over the case.
