- Safeway grocery store, Tennant Station shopping center, 2:44pm. The manager reported two male suspects stole a large amount of meat from the store.
April 26
Vandalism
- La Rocca Court, 7:49am. A resident reported three tires on her vehicles were slashed overnight.
Fraud
- Woodland Estates Mobile Home Park, Cherry Court, 1:05pm. The son of a resident reported his father’s checks and credit cards were stolen by a suspect, and the suspect charged more than $30,000 and wrote checks totaling approximately $20,000.
April 27
Petty theft:
- Hardware Technology, Caputo Drive, 4:05pm. An employee reported their bike was parked inside the business lobby, and someone stole the bike.
Burglary
- East Dunne Avenue, 5:12pm. A resident reported he arrived home to find the house had been ransacked.
Fraud
- The Ford Store, Condit Road, 10:42pm. An employee reported a suspect bought a $190,000 car and lied on the credit application.
April 28
Auto burglary
- Mira Bella Circle le, 8:55am. A Mazda was broken into overnight. A window was shattered, and a backpack was stolen.
Petty theft
- Morgan Hill Car Wash, Monterey Road, 1:38pm. A customer reported her iPod was stolen from the center console of her vehicle when she took the vehicle to be washed.
April 29
Vandalism
- LDS Church, East Dunne Avenue, 10:39am. A window of a Chrylser van was shattered, but nothing was stolen from the van.

- Morgan Hill City Hall, Peak Avenue 3:54pm. A window of a Toyota was shattered, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
Auto burglary
- Monterey Road, 4:56pm. A resident reported $2,700 was stolen from the glove compartment of an unlocked car, and a stereo and tools were also stolen from the vehicle.

Fountain Oaks Drive, 5:08pm. A resident reported a Lexus was broken into. A Kaiser work bag containing clothing, shoes, gift cards, cash and a Palm Pilot was stolen from the Lexus.

Downtown parking lot, East Second Street, 1:59pm. A purse was stolen from an unlocked Ford Expedition parked in the Downtown Mall parking lot. A bank card from the purse was used to charge $225 at the Music Tree.

Church on the Rock, East Dunne Avenue, 10:58am. A Honda was broken into while in the parking lot. A window was shattered, and a purse was stolen.

- Paradise Valley School, La Crosse Drive, 8:17am. A classroom was broken into over the weekend. Minor items were stolen, and graffiti was drawn on classroom doors.

Sheriff arrests
Controlled substances
- Jason Lee Luna, 28, of Monterey Highway in Gilroy, 8pm, April 27 at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Buena Vista Avenue in Gilroy, for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Other Sheriff incidents
Robbery
- A man walked into Casa de Fruta 7:30pm, April 26 and pocketed two mangoes, valued $2.58, and told the cashier, “I have a gun and I can do something to you.” The cashier, frightened, allowed him to leave without paying. The suspect was later identified as Roy Richard Brand, 26, of Peartree Lane in Hollister. Brand is currently at large.
Vehicle theft
- A gray 2001 GMC 2500 truck was stolen from Estates Drive in Gilroy between 10pm, April 23 and 4:50am, April 24. The truck contained the victim’s purse and credit cards. Later, surveillance cameras recorded two suspects, one male, one female, purchasing more than $700 in electronics from Super Wal-Mart in Gilroy, using the victim’s credit card. The vehicle was later recovered by the California Highway Patrol.
Grand theft
- A camera and other items worth $1,400 were taken between 10:30pm, April 25 and 6:45am Thursday, April 26 from a car parked at 15080 Llagas Ave.
