  • Downtown Morgan Hill, 3:49pm. A resident riding the bus reported a suspect stole his iPod and jumped off the bus while it was downtown, running down a side street.

  • La Mar Court, 6:25pm. A resident reported her ex hit her in the chest and neck with his fist.

Auto burglary

  • Terracina Apartments, East Dunne Avenue, 7:52am. A resident reported their locked vehicle was broken into overnight, and the stereo, speakers and amplifier were stolen.

  • Pinto Court, 5:17am. A resident reported a Honda Civic was stolen from the residence.

Vandalism

  • Terracina Apartments, East Dunne Avenue, 9:26am. A resident reported someone entered the laundry room overnight and vandalized one of the washing machines, removing the top of the machine along with the coin holder.

Auto burglary

  • Easy Street, 8:01am. Someone stole four backpacks from an unlocked Suburban overnight.

  • Easy Street, 1:27pm. A resident reported someone broke into a vehicle overnight. A window was shattered and speakers, two CD cases and a school backpack were stolen from the vehicle.

Burglary

  • Le Sabre Court, 9:54pm. A resident reported she was on vacation and her son and dogsitter reported her house was burglarized and car was stolen. Her car was later recovered by the California Highway Patrol.

  • The Residence Inn, Madrone Parkway, 6:09am. A guest at the inn reported their vehicle was broken into overnight. A vehicle’s window was shattered, but it was not clear at the time of the report if anything was stolen.

  • Berry Court Apartments, Berry Court, 1:52pm. A resident reported their Honda Civic was broken into overnight, and speakers, amplifier and the stereo face plate were stolen.

Petty theft

  • Walgreen’s drug store, East Dunne Avenue, 10:34am. A bicycle was stolen from the store overnight.

  • Target store, Cochrane Plaza shopping center, 11:29am. An employee stole more than $140 in merchandise.

Identity theft

  • Calle Viento, 3:50pm. A resident reported his Social Security number is being used fraudulently.

  • Oak Leaf Drive, 7:54am. A resident reported a Mercury Mountaineer’s windows were shattered overnight, but it was unclear if anything was stolen.

Battery

  • Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes, East Dunne Avenue, 9:04pm

A resident reported she came home and found her daughter had been beaten. The daughter, who had swollen eyes, a cut lip and scratches on her arm, told her mother that she was walking near San Pedro Avenue when a vehicle pulled to the side of the road. Several subjects jumped out of the vehicle and assaulted her. She was unable to give a description of the vehicle or the suspects and refused medical treatment.
