Auto burglary
- Paradise Park, La Crosse Drive, 8:47am. A locked Toyota 4Runner was broken into while parked in the small parking lot near the playground. A window was shattered, and a wallet and purse were stolen.
Burglary
- Safeway grocery store, East Dunne Avenue, 9:54am. A manager reported he needed to add to an ongoing file of theft reports. He told police that on Sept. 19, someone stole alcohol totaling $1,456.73.
Oct. 16
Fraud
- Microtel Inn and Suites, Condit Road, 8:09am. A guest ran up a $992 bill, then gave a stolen American Express card number to pay for it.
Grand theft
- Syncon Homes, Butterfield Boulevard, 11:35am. Lumber was stolen from a fenced construction site overnight.

Petco, Cochrane Road, 3:20pm. Someone entered the building under construction, cut a lock and stole an electric pipe bender valued at $5,000.
Vandalism
- Encino Drive, 11:59pm. A resident reported a window of their Buick Regal was shattered by a BB gun pellet.
Oct. 17
Burglary
- Farmers Market, Tennant Avenue, 6:26am. Someone broke into the business overnight. It wasn’t clear at the time of the report if anything was stolen.

- A 31-year-old female, Oct. 8, 10:23pm on Oak View Circle, for alleged domestic violence.

Immigrations hold
- Martin Venegas Hernandez, 43, of the 100 block of Third Street, 8pm, Oct. 4, at the intersection of Monterey and Old Gilroy streets for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold, pending deportation for felony charges.
Driving under the influence
- Jorge Mandujano, Jr., 21, of San Jose, 3am, Oct. 12, at the intersection of Condit Road and Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill for driving under the influence.

Frank J. Vasquez, 24, of the 7200 block of East Street, 9pm Saturday, at the intersection of U.S. 101 and East Middle Avenue in San Martin for driving under the influence, child endangerment, vandalism and driving without a license.
Brandishing a weapon
- Desiderio Soto, 38, of Southside Avenue, 9pm, Oct. 12, at Southside Avenue for brandishing a weapon, three counts of criminal threats and for concealing a dirk. Soto, who had been drinking, waved a knife at four victims and threatened to kill three of the four of them. He also made irrational statements.
Under influence of controlled substance
- Adrian Lara, 19, of Peebles Avenue in Morgan Hill, 10pm,
Oct. 12, near the intersection of Bridal Path Drive and Dutchess Court for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
- Yessica Itzel Espinoza, 18, of Llagas Avenue in San Martin, 10pm, Oct. 11, near the intersection of Bridal Path Drive and Dutchess Court for possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Sheriff’s Incidents:
Petty theft
- A rear license plate was stolen off a silver 1988 BMW 325 parked outside a home on Ogier Avenue near Monterey Road in Morgan Hill between 3pm, Oct. 8 and 12pm, Oct. 11.

A wallet containing $25, identification cards and credit cards was stolen at the Pumpkin Patch of Uesugi Farms, 14485 Monterey Hwy. in San Martin, 2pm, Oct. 13. The suspect made three charges with a credit card totaling $3.
Identity theft
- Charges were made to a person’s company bank account, gas card and charge account at an office supply store between Aug. 15 and Sept. 28. The charges at the store totaled $662.90.
Vandalism
- A blue 2007 Scion TC parked on Terri Court was written on with a sharp object, causing about $1,000 in damage, between 9 and 10pm, Oct. 13. Sheriff’s suspect the victim’s ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Thomas Joseph Haro of Arnold Drive.

A back door keyhole and doorknob were damaged at a house near the intersection of Sabini Court and Almond Orchard Court in Morgan Hill between 6am, Oct. 12 and 6am, Oct. 13.
Recovered stolen vehicle
- Road crews found a red 1998 Acura Integra blocking the road near the intersection of Uvas Road and Kell Court in Morgan Hill 6:30am Oct. 4. The vehicle had been reported stolen by the Sanford Police Department and it was found stripped of its engine, transmission and seats.
Commercial burglary
- An ATM loaded with money and an alarm box totaling $3,550 were stolen from a gas station on Monterey Road in San Martin between 9:20am, Oct. 2 and 12:30am, Oct. 3. The suspect or suspects, who are unknown and still at large, cut locks on two gates to enter the property through the employee entrance and pried off the stolen items.
