Auto burglary
- Carriage Drive Apartments, Carriage Drive, 9:30am. A resident reported two vehicles in the area were broken into overnight. A stereo was stolen from one BMW and the glove compartment of the second BMW was ransacked and the stereo was stolen.
Grand theft
- Target store, Cochrane Road, 2:50pm. A suspect was seen stealing a hard drive, an LCD TV and a computer monitor.

Nob Hill Terrace Apartments, Nob Hill Terrace, 3:08pm. A motorized scooter was stolen from the carport area of the apartments overnight.
Battery
- Tennant Station shopping center. 11:25pm. A male reported four suspects were beating him up but took off when police were called.
Oct. 5
Petty theft
- Laurel Wood Lane, 12:09pm. A resident reported his mailbox was stolen overnight.
Grand theft
- Nordstrom School, East Dunne Avenue, 12:26pm. The principal reported a student brought an expensive necklace to school and the necklace was stolen.
Burglary
- Sabini Court, 4:59pm. A resident reported he came home after being away all day and found several items had been stolen from his residence, including a TV, two Remington rifles, a shotgun and several other weapons.

Auto burglary
- Maple Leaf RV Park, Monterey Road, 9:42am. A resident reported a camera, a GPS and radar detector were stolen from a Mazda.

Maple Leaf RV Park, Monterey Road, 9:46am. A resident reported the stereo was stolen from a Dodge Dakota.

Morgan Hill Soccer Complex, Condit Road, 1:48pm. A vehicle was broken into while parked at the complex, and a cell phone, charger and GPS were stolen.

Maple Leaf RV Park, Monterey Road, 3:33pm. A resident reported her vehicle was broken into, and her wallet was stolen.

Maple Leaf RV Park, Monterey Road, 4:31pm. A resident reported his computer and passport were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.
Battery
- Sizzler Restaurant, Monterey Road, 8:51pm. A resident reported two male suspects told him he owed them money, then one of them punched him in the side of the head.

- Valero gas station, Monterey Road, 11:25pm. A male suspect stole two 12-packs of beer from the store.

- La Escuela Court, 7:08am. A resident reported a truck and a Honda Prelude were both egged and keyed.

Sheriff’s Incidents:
Burglary
- A suspect or suspects stole between $2,500 and $3,500 in cash and credit card receipts and $75 in cash from Nature’s Pit Stop on Pacheco Pass Highway. The business burned to the ground after the robbery, though the sheriff’s office has not concluded that the suspect or suspects are responsible for the fire. CalFire is investigating the incident. It is unknown how the suspect or suspects entered the building.
Grand theft
- A backpack with a laptop worth almost $1,000 was stolen at the Northern California Renaissance Faire, on Pacheco Pass Highway in Hollister, between 6 and 11pm Sunday.

Andrew Schwartzkopf, 49, who works on Joleen Way in Morgan Hill, is suspected of stealing more than $3,500 in video equipment, electrical equipment, tools, and heavy equipment, including a gasoline generator and a license plate, from a church on Depot Street in San Jose, 7am Sept. 8 according to police sources. Schwartzkopf, who was on the premises before the theft, is still at large.

Gas and goods worth $755 were purchased using a stolen Valero gas card at Valero gas stations in San Martin and Salinas, between 7am July 6 and 8:30am Sept. 18.
Identity theft
- An unknown suspect used the identity of a resident on San Felipe Road to open a PG&E account, 12am Aug. 5.

An Arizona Circle resident has had her identity stolen since 2004. The resident had her wallet, containing identification cards, stolen in 2001. An unknown suspect started using her identity in Ohio in 2004, but the victim did not know of the theft until her tax return was audited by the Internal Revenue Service Aug. 6.
Vandalism
- A San Martin mailbox was knocked off a four-foot by four-foot pedestal, possibly by a baseball bat, for the third time in one month, between 8pm Sept. 20 and 6am Friday.

A Morgan Hill water container in the driveway of a residence was sprayed with graffiti, between 8pm Sept. 18 and 10am Sept. 19.
Pirated music
- Tae Souk Lee, 59, Young Hee Kim, 53, and Chang Hoe Kim, 52, who sell CDs at San Martin Market in San Martin, had 290 CDs confiscated after sheriffs and an investigator from the Recording Industry Association of America confirmed they were selling pirated Latin music CDs. The sheriff’s office is requesting felony charges for all three men for failure to disclose origin of recording.
Recovered stolen vehicle
- The sheriff’s deputy recovered a stolen 1990 black Honda Accord at the intersection of Marcella and Buena Vista avenues, 9:50am Sept. 20. The vehicle had been reported stolen Sept. 11. When recovered, the car’s stereo, three tires and rims were missing.

A sheriff’s deputy found a stolen 1991 green Honda Civic at the intersection of Peet and Half roads in Morgan Hill, 8am Sept. 18.
Recovered stolen ATM
- A sheriff’s deputy found a stolen ATM near an embankment next to Chesbro Reservoir, 9:50am Sept. 18. The ATM was stolen from a theater in Fremont, Sept. 8.
