Grand theft

  • Maple Leaf RV Park, Monterey Road, 3:03pm. A resident reported his computer and passport were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

Vandalism

  • Park ‘n Ride, Monterey Road, 4:17pm. A resident reported someone “tagged” a park bench, two light poles and an electrical box.

  • Diana Avenue, 6:56pm. A resident reported two teens on skateboards knocked over a neighbor’s mailbox.

Petty theft

  • Diana Avenue, 8:36pm. A resident reported her mailbox was stolen.

Oct 12

Auto burglary

  • Live Oak High School, East Main Avenue, 7:21pm. A Dodge Ram Charger parked at the school was broken into between 5-6:45pm, and a stereo, wallet and purse were stolen.

Oct 14

Burglary

  • California Salvage and Tow, Monterey Road, 12:28am. Someone jumped the fence to the business and broke into a Volkswagen Jetta that was in the yard.

Vandalism

  • Carriage Drive, 9:44pm. A resident reported someone shattered a window of a neighbor’s vehicle.

Arrests:

  • Alex G. Mensing, 18, Oct. 4, 2:21pm on East Dunne Avenue, for alleged possession of an open container of alcohol while driving.

  • Two 17-year-olds, Oct. 4, 2:21pm on East Dunne Avenue, for alleged possession of marijuana.

  • A 16-year-old, Oct. 4, 3:15pm on East Dunne Avenue, for alleged possession of marijuana.

  • Robert D. Porter, Oct. 9, 4:38am in Tennant Station, for alleged trespassing.

Sheriff’s incidents:

Suicide

  • A man was found by his wife hanging by his neck in the carport area of their residence near the intersection of Sheila and Sycamore avenues in Morgan Hill. She called the law enforcement, who pronounced the victim dead at 1:11pm Oct. 2 but estimated the time of death two hours prior.

Unattended death

  • A man fell off the roof of his residence on Lena Avenue and hit his head on the concrete walkway below. Law enforcement arrived at the scene and found the man dead at 10:39am, Oct. 3.

Petty theft

  • A wallet containing $20 and credit cards was stolen from a female while she was at school at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., between 11:15am and 1:30pm, Oct.5.

Auto burglary

  • Furniture, phone equipment and other possessions were stolen from inside a white trailer on Rucker Avenue between Sept. 10 and Oct. 1. The lock was pried off the door.

Vandalism

  • A pumpkin was thrown into a mailbox, knocking it to the ground, outside a residence on Santa Teresa Boulevard between 8pm Saturday and 8:30am Sunday.

Grand theft

  • A wallet, money, camera equipment and other possessions were stolen from an unlocked 2007 green Jeep Wrangler parked outside the victim’s home on Lena Avenue between 9pm Oct. 6 and 8pm Oct. 7.

Assault and battery

  • John Thomas Kozlosky, 28, of Pacheco Pass Highway, was arrested for battery 11:53am Saturday. The male victim claimed Kozlosky choked and punched him outside a residence.

Residential burglary

  • A woman stopped a burglar in the act, snatching back a purse that he was trying to steal from a countertop in her house on Crews Road at 10am Oct. 5. The white male, who she described as five-foot nine-inches tall and 160 pounds with medium build and wearing a cap over his collar-length brown hair, entered through the back door and fled in a red Dodge pickup truck.
