Feb. 14

  • Vandalism: A Murphy Ranch Apartment resident reported they heard a noise just after midnight, and in the morning discovered someone broke a window of the apartment. The report was taken at 6:07am.

  • Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported he was given three money orders for $950, and all of them were counterfeit. He told police his bank cashed the money orders. The report was taken at 10:52pm.

Feb. 15

  • Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported her vehicle was broken into while parked in the parking lot at St. Catherine Church. The back window was broken, and her purse was stolen. The report was taken at 9:24pm.

  • Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported her vehicle was broken into while it was parked at the Morgan Hill Community Cultural Center. Her purse was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 9:27pm.

Arrests:

  • A 14-year-old male was cited and released for alleged battery at Britton Middle School. The report was taken on Jan. 31 at 2:53pm.

  • Two males, ages 14 and 15, were cited and released to their parents for alleged assault with a deadly weapon after a fight at Live Oak High School. The report was taken at 2:36pm on Feb. 7.

  • John D. LeGrand, 20, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The report was taken on Feb. 9 at 1:36pm.

  • Larry E. Howard, Jr., 21, was cited and released for allegedly obstructing a peace officer or medical personnel. The report was taken at 1:34am on Feb. 10.

  • Teri L. Hauff, 23, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on an outstanding warrant. The report was taken oat 9:27am on Feb. 10.

  • A 43-year-old woman was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged spousal abuse. The report was taken on Feb. 10 at 10:55am.

  • Lorenzo D. Castanon, 23, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on an outstanding warrant. The report was taken at 1:37pm on Feb. 10.

  • A 16-year-old male was cited and released for allegedly obstructing a peace officer or medical personnel. The report was taken on Feb. 10 at 11:02.

  • Summer J. Harrison, 30, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged burglary. The report was taken on Feb. 11 at 5:15pm.

  • A 42-year-old male was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged spousal abuse. The report was taken at 3:10pm on Feb. 14.

  • Christopher S. Muta, 24, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged battery. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 4:28pm.

  • A 39-year-old male was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged battery of a former spouse or partner. The report was taken at 6:01pm on Feb. 14.

  • Christopher N. Montarbo, 21, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged possession of a controlled substance. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 10:20pm.

  • A 33-year-old male was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for alleged spousal abuse. The report was taken at 10:22pm on Feb. 15.

Sheriff Arrests:

  • Controlled substances: Joseph Anthony Solorio, 20, of Hollister, Feb. 9 at 6:30pm at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Middle Avenue in San Martin, for being under the influence of methamphetamine and driving without a valid license.

  • Public intoxication: Martin Montenegro Nevarez, 71, of Rosanna Street in Gilroy, Feb. 8 at 9pm at the intersection of Monterey Highway and San Martin Avenue, for public intoxication.

Other Sheriff Incidents:

  • Attempted vehicle burglary: An unknown suspect tried to pry open the right rear window of a vehicle parked at Gavilan College, between 12pm and 12:28pm, Feb. 8. A witness saw him and he fled.

  • Vehicle burglary: A $350 iPod and a $220 stereo face plate were taken from a vehicle parked at the intersection of Fourth Street and Rucker Avenue in San Martin, between 6pm, Feb. 7 and 5:30am, Feb. 8.

  • Theft by credit card: An unknown suspect stole $2,905.11 using a New Avenue resident’s credit card, between 9am, Jan. 19 and 9am, Feb. 6.

  • Residential burglary: Six chandeliers, a toilet, a scaffold, a vacuum, two garbage disposals and a door handle, totaling more than $6,000, were stolen from Ferguson Road in Gilroy between 7:30pm, Feb. 6 and 8am, Feb. 7.
