Burglary

  • Ernie’s Bar and Grill, Monterey Road, 9:51 a.m. Someone broke into the bar through a hole in the ceiling and stole cash from the business.

Vandalism

  • Morgan Hill Imports, Monterey Road, 3:34 p.m. A group of teenagers were throwing rocks at vehicles at the business and broke a windshield of one of the vehicles.

  • Britton Middle School, West Central Avenue, 5:05 p.m. A school district employee reported a group of kids entered the school auditorium and sprayed a fire extinguisher.

Dec. 8

Vandalism

  • West Dunne Avenue, 7:18 a.m. A resident reported someone shot at her vehicle and her neighbor’s vehicle overnight. She told police her vehicle was hit in the windshield and her neighbor’s was hit in the side.

Arrests:

  • A 17-year-old, Nov. 16, 11:10 p.m. on Tennant Avenue, for alleged petty theft.

  • Marcos D. Salazar, 23, Nov. 18, 5:36 p.m. on Sorrel Way, on an outstanding warrant.

  • Tracy A. Tremaine, 30, Nov. 30, 2:10 p.m. on Trail Drive, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

  • Richard H. Scott, 54, Dec. 7, 2:39 a.m. on Depot Street, for allegedly giving false identification to a peace officer.

  • Joseph J. Williams, 50, Dec. 7, 2:41 a.m. on Depot Street, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

  • Armando E. Anaya, 42, Dec. 7, 10:02 p.m. on Monterey Road, on suspicion of being drunk in public.

  • Scott A. Mead, 30, Dec. 9, 2:36 p.m. on San Pedro Lane, for alleged domestic violence.

Sheriff’s arrest:

Possession of a controlled substance

  • Denny Holderfield, 43, of Morgan Hill. At approximately 10:12 p.m., a Sheriff’s deputy stopped the driver of a vehicle for a vehicle code violation on Willow Springs Road near Hale Avenue. During his investigation the deputy learned that Holderfield was unlicensed. Consent to search the vehicle was granted to the deputy by the driver prior to towing the vehicle. During a search of the interior of the vehicle the deputy located a small, clear, plastic baggie containing a white crystal like substance. An in-field test of the substance indicated that the substance was methamphetamine. Holderfield was arrested for driving on a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine and booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

Under influence of controlled substance

  • Grant Douglas Nielsen, 21, of the 10000 block of Guibal Avenue, 11:24 p.m. Sunday, at the Gilroy Caltrain Station, 7150 Monterey Street.

  • Lauro Mata Vela Jr., 38, of the 1600 block of Church Street, 10:30 a.m. Friday, near the intersection of East Dunne Avenue and Church Street in Morgan Hill for being under the influence of a controlled substance and on a warrant for the same.

Controlled substance possession

  • Kimberly Angelmarie Stanley, 20, of the 9100 block of Connnell Court, 1 a.m. Tuesday, near the intersection of Monterey Road and Welburn Avenue for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Driving under the influence

  • Riley Bruington Hassell, 27, of San Jose, 1:50 a.m. Thursday, near the intersection of Highway 85 and Blossom Hill Road in San Jose.

Possession of stolen vehicle

  • Frank Ramirez, 29, of the 400 block of Fairview Drive,

1 a.m. Dec. 4, at the Garlic Farm RV Park, near the intersection of Travel Park Circle and Monterey Road, for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and probation violation.
