Local activists of all ages joined the nationwide “March For Our Lives” in downtown Morgan Hill Saturday, March 24.
Similar protests in major cities and small towns throughout the country drew hundreds of thousands of people. The purpose of the march was to “demand that our lives and safety become a priority,” and speak out against gun violence and mass shootings, according to local organizers.
In Morgan Hill, demonstrators held handmade signs and chanted slogans as they marched from the Community and Cultural Center to the farmers market on Depot Street, and back. The local demonstration was organized by the Morgan Hill Federation of Teachers and Showing Up For Racial Justice South County (SURJ).
