PG&E reported at 12pm Oct. 11 that electricity had been restored to about 543,000 customers who were impacted by the Public Safety Power Shutoff. Ninety-four percent of customers in Santa Clara County have had their electricity restored since the PSPS began.

According to PG&E’s “outage map” website, most customers who had been impacted in Morgan Hill had their power restored by Friday afternoon. More than 6,400 customers in Morgan Hill saw their electricity turned off during the PSPS, which started Oct. 9.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) reported Friday at 12:00 p.m. that approximately 543,000 customers impacted by PSPS have had their power restored, including full restoration in Humboldt, Siskiyou, Trinity and Yolo counties. Less than 195,000 customers remain without power.

Outage/Restoration Numbers

Approximately 738,000 total customers were impacted by the PSPS event from the Northern Sierra to the Greater Bay Area to Kern County. Approximately 543,000 customers have been restored. Less than 195,000 customers remain to be restored.

Weather All Clear

Weather conditions have improved and an “all clear” decision was extended to 34 of 35 counties impacted by the Public Safety Power shutoff (PSPS), except for Kern County. Early Friday, PG&E declared a weather “all clear” in Butte, Plumas and Yuba counties.

Safety patrols and inspections, which can only take place during daylight hours, began again at daybreak on Friday with more than 6,300 on-the-ground field personnel and 44 staged helicopters. Customers will be restored throughout the day and evening once safety patrols, inspections and necessary repairs are complete.

Damage to Equipment

PG&E has identified 23 instances of weather-related damage to its system in the PSPS-impacted areas, and the company is working to address these repairs.

Customer Resources

During the period of the PSPS, customers in impacted areas will not be billed, and PG&E has paused disconnection and collection activities in these areas.

Twenty-six PG&E Community Resource Centers remain open throughout the service area to provide water, phone charging stations, air-conditioned seating and restrooms for customers. Over 3,300 customers utilized the centers on Thursday. To view the full list, click here.
