Peter F. Palma Sr., born in San Jose on Feb. 8, 1912, died in
Gilroy on Jan. 14, 2004, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Leona.

Pete was a resident of Morgan Hill since 1959. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play baseball. He was a big fan of the Giants and Yankees. He was inducted into the Santa Clara County Softball Hall of Fame in 1982. He was part-owner of Associated Ready Mix Concrete of Morgan Hill. He was a member of the Morgan Hill Fish & Game as well as the Morgan Hill F.B.I. Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting in Colorado, pheasant and duck hunting as well as an annual family fishing/camping trip to Kennedy Meadows.
Peter will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, and his loving dog Cookie.
He is survived by his children, Pete (Pat) Palma of Clearlake, Jerry (Mary) Palma of Surprise, Ariz., Joe (Patti) Palma of Santa Cruz, Jim (Lois) Palma of Anthem, Ariz., and Sharon (Al) Alciati of Morgan Hill as well as 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation takes place Sunday, Jan. 18, 5-7 p.m., at Johnson Funeral Home. Vigil Service will follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services take place Monday, Jan. 19, at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
