A pair of Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League teams emerged with
tournament titles this month. The OV OMI Eagles U13 boys team
walked off with championship trophies at the 22nd Annual South San
Jose Invitational Tournament held at the Morgan Hill Complex.

The OV OMI Eagles U13 boys team walked off with championship trophies at the 22nd Annual South San Jose Invitational Tournament held at the Morgan Hill Complex.
And, the OV Storm U10 girls team also captured a championship, winning the Mt. Jam Jamboree in the North Bay.
The Eagles began their quest with a 4-1 rout of the SYSL Spartans White. Raul Saavedra began the 4-1 rout with an unassisted goal and Fernando Pedroza scored the fourth and final goal unassisted. The Eagles then faced the South San Jose Cobras, winning 3-1.
The next day, the Eagles beat PAL Cruz Azul 7-1, which put them into the championship round against the South San Jose Cobras again.
The Eagles emerged with a 3-0 win and the tourney title.
Coaches Jack Salvemini, Mike Salvemini and Thom Little said they were very pleased with the teams’ performance, especially with so many different players scoring.
“We have a lot of scoring threats this year and it was especially nice to have Jordan Bredehoeft back on defense. Bredehoeft, Adam Johnson, Sean Little, Cesar Lustre and Matt Morgan did a fine job of keeping our goals against to only one per game,” Salvemini said.
At the season-opening Mt. Jam Jamboree, the Storm rolled to a 4-0 record against several of the best teams in the region.
