Dear Editor,
How would you feel if the City of Morgan Hill drafted a plan that showed your house gone and replaced by a street? How would you feel if you found your driveway would be at the new street’s intersection? Can we say declining property values? Unfortunately, this is a true story. You can check out the map at www.stoptheautomall.com
When a neighbor informed me the city drafted plans for a possible new street connecting Diana to Dunne, I was horrified to find out that these new “plans” wiped out homes directly across the street from our house. These homes have been in the families for decades.
You can imagine our shock that the city could draft such plans, and no one had approached the impacted homeowners about this project. The new “plans” show their homes GONE and our driveway at an intersection.
Please understand that besides homes having auto dealers in their backyards, the Dunne auto dealership expansion proposes to wipe out two existing homes and replace them with a new road and tract housing.
Please oppose candidates who favor rezoning residential areas to commercial and tearing down houses for new roads.
