Megan Perron drove in five runs as Sobrato rode two big innings to defeat Soquel 13-3 Thursday.
The Bulldogs scored seven in the first and six more in the third and eventually survived a rally in the fourth inning from Soquel to pull out their second win of the season.
Freshman Lexi Parish earned the win, going five innings giving up three runs on four hits and two walks with a strikeout.
Her only blemish came in the fourth inning when Soquel scored twice on a bases-loaded double and a third following an error.
But the defense buckled down to strand a runner on third to preserve a 10-run lead that helped end the game before the sun came down.
Meanwhile, Sobrato’s offense got going in bunches.
With two outs in the first inning, Sobrato scored its first run when Kendall McGowan singled to drive in Parish.
That opened the floodgates as Ashley Burke doubled to score Samantha Parish and McGowan. Burke eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Then after Bella Romani and Noelle McGowan were hit by pitches, Perron sent a ball to center field that just bounced off the top of the fence for a three-run homer.
Perron finished with a 2-3 day and five RBIs after a two-run single in the third.
In that third, Sobrato sent 10 batters to the plate, including the first four hitters all reaching safely.
Perron hit a basesloaded single to drive in Kacey Suess and Mariela Mestaz who doubled and singled to lead off the inning.
The with one out, Lexi Parish singled to score Julianne Camacho followed by a double from Samantha Brenny who drove in Perron and Parish.
Samantha Parish capped things off with an RBI single that brought home Brenny.
The game was an opportunity for Sobrato to empty the bench as everyone on the roster got into the game at one point or another.
Nine of the 14 batters got hits with 12 reaching safely.
Coach John McGowan said he is still trying to iron out who will get nods in the starting lineup, particularly on defense.
The Bulldogs have a hefty schedule coming up starting with a game against Presentation at the Salinas Circle of Champions. That will be followed with games at Scotts Valley, Presentation and Santa Teresa spanning the next 11 days before returning home to host Leigh on March 24.
