An off-duty San Jose police officer was flown to the hospital and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing her vehicle near Anderson Lake.
Morgan Hill police responded to a report of a solo pickup crash near the intersection of East Dunne Avenue and Holiday Drive about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. Shane Palsgrove.
Elizabeth Robbins, 44 of Modesto, was driving the Dodge pickup on Holiday Drive when the vehicle left the roadway, overturned and slid down an embankment, Palsgrove said.
The truck rested on its roof, leaning against a tree about 20 feet down the embankment, according to police reports. The accident happened about a half-mile east of Dunne Avenue.
Robbins, an off-duty San Jose police officer, was the only occupant of the truck, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.
She was flown by helicopter to San Jose Regional Hospital, and was cited on suspicion of DUI, Palsgrove said. She was released from the hospital with a cut on her head.
San Jose police did not have an immediate comment on Robbins’ suspected violation when contacted Friday afternoon. San Jose Sgt. Jose Garcia said Robbins was “back on patrol.”
