Mary Julia Ward passed away in her home at the age of 84 on May 13, 2009. She was born to Ralph and Bennie Scurry, February 8, 1925 in Saluda, SC. She is survived by her children Margene, husband Rhon Martin of Loomis, Gregg Ward of Gilroy and Mina Ward of Morgan Hill. She was the grandmother of Stefanie, husband David Pinheiro, Kevin and Lauren Bertero, Alex Benavides and Thomas Mangano; great-grandmother of Britney Gitmed and Donavyn and Natalia Pinheiro. She is the sister-in-law of Esther Scurry of Columbia, SC and Ruth Burk of Riverside, CA and the aunt of Ralph and Grace Scurry of Irmo, SC.

Mary is survived by her 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Joseph Costa, as well as her parents Luiz and Christina Costa. Mary was a lifetime member of SFV Portuguese Lodge of Mt. View. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will begin 1:00 pm, Sunday, February 5, with a Vigil Service at 4:00 pm both at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be said 11:00 am, Monday, February 6, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. Online condolences at habingfamilyfuneralhome.com. A celebration of Bob's life will be Saturday, Dec.19th

Survived by his two daughters,Tammie (Gordy) Brooks and Teri (Wade) Robichaud.Three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was a life-long resident of Gilroy.

Emilia Filice passed away Sunday morning at the age of 91, at the Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Figline, Italy and came with her family to Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1927. Emelia later moved to California in 1937 where she met Pasquale Filice and they were married in 1938. She has resided in Hollister since then and later became a local caregiver for several years.

Tranquiliana Miranda, 89, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Mee Memorial Hospital in King City, CA.
