I was wearing my seat belt on May 31 and still got a ticket.
Don’t wear the same color jacket as your seat belt. There is at
least one officer out there that lacks any integrity to admit he
made a mistake.

Red Phone: Dear Cited, Red Phone is sure there are officers, as there are lawyers, doctors and umpires, who refuse to admit when they made a mistake.
Red Phone is sorry you were cited, those fines are expensive, but know that there are far more good, honest officers out there, as there are lawyers, doctors and umpires. Just the other day an umpire missed a call that cost a Detroit Tigers pitcher a perfect game, then apologized, admitting his error. Wow, if there were just more people like that.
But remember, though you told the officer you were wearing your seat belt, that officer may have heard that excuse dozens of times from people who weren’t wearing a restraint. So, should he have cut you a break? In retrospect, only he can answer that question.
Oh, and thanks for the tip about wearing a jacket that’s the same color as the seat belt.
Mushroom dishes available at MMG
“I worked at the booth for Britton Middle School during the Mushroom Mardi Gras and we sold stuffed mushrooms, and we still had left overs Sunday when we closed, and this has been a tradition for quite some time.”
Red Phone: Dear Stuffed, Red Phone assumes you’re referring to a reader’s question last week that inferred there were very few mushroom options at the festival.
As was printed June 4, Red Phone saw stuffed mushrooms (at the Britton booth, and they were delicious), mushroom chow mein, Cajun deep-fried mushrooms, mushroom cheesesteak, blackened shrimp and mushroom stick, fresh fried mushrooms, grilled portobello and blue cheese burger, sauteed mushrooms on garlic bread and pork and mushrooms over rice.
Yes, there were plenty of mushroom options at the Mushroom Mardi Gras.
Thanks for calling, good caller.
