A norovirus that spreads without proper washing of hands struck Morgan Hill Unified School District’s Jackson Academy of Math and Music last month, according to the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.
Nearly two dozen cases from JAMM were reported to county health last month.
The gastrointestinal virus, spread through touch, is still wreaking havoc in San Jose schools, but the Morgan Hill outbreak ended April 24, according to county health officials.
County health staff came out to the school and gave instruction on the proper way to wash their hands. They also explained that those infected should stay home when sick and not return until symptoms have stopped for at least 48 hours.
Virus such as this are not uncommon, according to county health.
