Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Dear Red Phone, we are happy West Dunne Avenue is finally
receiving much needed safety improvements. Those of us on the other
side of Monterey Road off E. Dunne Avenue were wondering if a
continuous sidewalk from Monterey Road to Hill Road on the south
side of E. Dunne Avenue was being planned as well?
“Dear Red Phone, we are happy West Dunne Avenue is finally receiving much needed safety improvements.

Those of us on the other side of Monterey Road off E. Dunne Avenue were wondering if a continuous sidewalk from Monterey Road to Hill Road on the south side of E. Dunne Avenue was being planned as well?

We would also like to point out that attention needs to be paid to the very overgrown bushes found in the median on E. Dunne Avenue. Especially problematic are the last set of bushes which completely block the view of drivers exiting the Monte Vigne development who are unable to see the oncoming traffic heading west on E. Dunne Avenue between Hill Road and Claret Drive. Every year at least one accident occurs at this intersection before the bushes are pruned. Please help us proactively avoid this in 2010. Thank you.”

Strong>Red Phone: Dear Thankful but Hoping, Red Phone contacted Karl Bjarke, deputy director of engineering for the city, who said the city does not have plans in the near future to construct continuous sidewalk along the south side of E. Dunne Avenue from Monterey Road to Hill Road.

“Sidewalks adjacent to vacant tracts of land will be constructed at such time that those properties develop,” Bjarke said. “Pedestrians are encouraged to use the north side of E. Dunne Avenue as it is nearly complete with sidewalk.”

As to your question about the overgrown bushes, Bjarke said to improve visibility at the location described, some shrubs will be moved and others trimmed.

Good caller, hope that answers your question.
