114623~Putting the library in the downtown is a wise choice that
will benefit all of us—EDITOR: With regards to where to place the
new library, I find the
“us versus them” mentality that has taken shape quite troubling.
The placement of the new main library is not a win-lose scenario,
but rather a case of where is the best location to place the new
main branch of the Morgan Hill library. The emotional element of
“us versus them” is divisive
and does not further the decision process.
Dear Stacy,
I agree with you 100%. I lived in Gilroy for a few years around 1989 and spent most of my free time in Morgan Hill. While I never visited the library, I do agree that location is tantamount to any other consideration. The most important location is that which suits the needs of the population whom the libray serves, most importantly, the children in the community. Nowadays, many children have internet access, and as a result, may never, ever, visit a public library. However, there are alway those who, for whatever reason, need to go to the libray for their research and reading needs and desires. The location you propose most certainly will benefit those individuals whom not only need, but require this location in order to further thier reading needs. Please keep up the good work. And also, please remember the childre, they are our future abnd one of them may be the doctor or nurse who is helping you, or I if evfer we find ourselves on the emergency room table.
Take care,
Mitch Marr
