Tastefully Simple Has New MH Consultant
Morgan Hill – Morgan Hill resident Jennifer Cavanaugh has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct-sales company featuring easy-to-prepare gourmet products.
As a consultant, Cavanaugh offers the company’s gourmet foods and beverages to guests at home taste-testing parties. Guests receive samples, easy-meal ideas, recipes and serving suggestions.
Power Outage Reported
Morgan Hill – Approximately 200 residents in southwest unincorporated Morgan Hill lost power for 45 minutes Tuesday morning, according to Brian Swenson with Pacific Gas & Electric. The power went out at 10:30am due to an equipment failure, according to Swenson, and was restored at approximately 11:15am.
Blazing Bales of Hay
Morgan Hill – An early morning fire in southwest Morgan Hill destroyed several bales of hay but did not damage any structures or cause any injuries, according to CAL FIRE, South Santa Clara County, officials.
The blaze began at approximately 3:20am Wednesday in an open field at 585 W. Edmundson Ave. Five fire vehicles responded, including Santa Clara County Fire Department Engine 12, and a bulldozer. The fire was quickly contained, according to CAL Fire, and no structures were threatened.
It is not yet clear what ignited the flames, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.
City’s Pledge Helps 211 Hotline
A 211 call center for Santa Clara County residents won $5,000 in funding from the Morgan Hill City Council Wednesday night.
In a 5-0 vote, the council pledged to support to the 211 hotline that launched in February. Last year, the council awarded $3,700 to the project.
The United Way of Silicon Valley is administering the 211 line and raising funds to support it.
There are 211 call centers in 41 states assisting people who need emergency food, shelter, financial assistance, low-cost health insurance, drug rehabilitation or senior services.
