Local Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash

A Morgan Hill man was hospitalized after an accident Friday afternoon on Watsonville Road. Robert Guio, 20, was flown by CALSTAR to Valley Medical Center with a fractured femur and forearm after he crashed his Suzuki motorcycle into a Saturn.

The 3pm accident occurred as Robert Meney, 42, of Morgan Hill drove southbound on Watsonville Road. As he approached Hummingbird Lane, he slowed down and put on his turn signal to make a left turn onto Hummingbird Lane. Guio was also southbound on Watsonville, but driving approximately 50-55 mph and passing other vehicles.

As Meney turned left, Guio saw the car in front of him, but could not stop his motorcycle in time, and slammed into the left side of Meney’s Saturn.

Meney was not injured in the collision. Neither driver was under the influence, according to the California Highway Patrol report, and the accident is under investigation.
