CHP Releases Injured Officer’s Name
Morgan Hill – The officer injured by a suspected drunken driver in a Sept. 17 crash is Marc Hinch, said Chris Armstrong, California Highway Patrol’s public information officer for the Gilroy-Hollister area. Hinch, an eight-year veteran, was helping a person with a disabled vehicle in the center divider of U.S. 101 when a man suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, rear-ended the patrolman’s police car. The force of the crash caused the patrol car to hit another car in front of it. Hinch was released from medical care after being treated for a minor concussion and cuts.
