McNerney Launches Advisory Board

Congressman Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, met with a newly created Small Business Advisory Board in Lodi April 5 during a tour of the 11th district.

McNerney said he is seeking advice from small-business owners on the challenges they face and how Congress might help “the little guy” succeed in today’s economy.

“I thought today’s meeting was very productive,” McNerney said. “I heard a wide variety of perspectives, from business owners to business organizations. The information I heard today will help me when I’m back in Washington analyzing and crafting legislation.”

The Small Business Advisory Board’s 14 members hail from Morgan Hill, Stockton, Pleasanton, Danville and Lodi. Dan Ehrler, executive director of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, represents Morgan Hill on the district-wide board.

McNerney plans to meet with members of the small business advisory board several times throughout the year. McNerney and his staff announced they would call upon advisory board members on a more frequent and informal basis as issues and legislation arise in Congress.
