San Jose Man Injured in Accident

Morgan Hill – A suspected drunken driver was thrown from his car and sustained major facial injuries when he rolled over his SUV near San Martin Avenue.

John Rogers, 19, of San Jose was weaving a white 2000 Ford SUV in and out of traffic about 5:50pm Sunday while traveling northbound on U.S. 101 at high speeds before rolling over, police said. Rogers, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the car and suffered injuries to his face.

When California Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash, Rogers fought with them, police said.

They arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence before they closed down the northbound side of the highway and had him flown to a hospital.
