The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 6, from 7-9 a.m., and will be celebrated locally at Crossroads Christian Center, 145 Wright Ave.

Christians will join together to worship and pray for community, state and nation. This day is offered to all Americans, regardless of religion, to celebrate their faith through prayer.

Everyone is invited to a continental breakfast, followed by a format similar to “Concerts of Prayer” with local pastors leading the assembled in prayer before prayer at individual tables for suggested topics, followed by worship.

The NDP was created by Congress in 1952 and, in 1988, set for the first Thursday in May.

Tickets are $5. Help with selling tickets, planning, decorating, breakfast, publicity, worship and packets are welcome. Details: Julie, 779-2820.
