This past week was different than a normal school week at Live Oak. It was the Exit Exam testing so the school was on block schedule. Instead of attending six different classes for about 50 minutes, we had three classes for two hours each day.

Therefore Live Oak experienced combined lunches through out the week. The lunches ran smoothly with no problems.

The seniors had their own treat on Friday, we had a senior class barbecue. Seniors stood in a line that ran through the parking lot to the BBQ pits at the snack shack near the football field. Students were asked to pay $1 to cover food costs for this event.

The barbecue was a big success with the seniors eating in the outfield of the Junior Varsity Baseball field. Music was playing and seniors enjoyed a beautiful day with friends for an extended 45-minute lunch.

Some upcoming events for Live Oak are the Battle of the Bands contest on March 15. This is a contest for students to show their musical talents in the Live Oak Gym. This event starts at 7 p.m. The Junior Prom is on Friday, March 28, at the Capital Club in San Jose. Plus, let’s not forget that there’s six more weeks until spring break.
