Morgan Hill police officer Steve Pennington was honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for making more than 350 DUI arrests in the past 10 years.   

On June 2, Morgan Hill police officer Steve Pennington was honored at a state meeting of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Officer Pennington was recognized with the California Hero Award for his dedication in the fight against drunken driving. Officer Pennington has made more than 350 DUI arrests in the past 10 years, saving countless lives in the process, according to a press release from the Morgan Hill Police Department. Morgan Hill is a much safer community thanks to officer Pennington’s diligence and commitment to ridding our streets of drunk drivers, the releases states.    

MADD California provides support services to law enforcement through assistance with educational and awareness materials at sobriety checkpoints, public education about the devastating crime of drunk driving, recognition events to encourage and thank officers for removing drunk drivers from the roadways to keep law abiding citizens safe.
