Morgan Hill – A man who may have been involved in several fraud and forgery cases was arrested by Morgan Hill police on Jan 5.
Leonel Farias, 19, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges of alleged possession of stolen property and forgery, according to MHPD Cmdr. David Swing.
He was working at the Radio Shack in Tennant Station shopping center on Jan. 5 at approximately 2:30pm when a customer called police to report her credit card had been stolen, and she believed the cashier at the Radio Shack had taken it.
“Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time for (Farias),” Swing said. “There was a different case involving similar circumstances in November.”
MHPD Officer Bill Norman interviewed Farias on both cases, Swing said, and made the connection.
Farias may be connected with other cases; the investigation is continuing.
On Sunday, at approximately 4:45am, officers responded to the Courtyard Marriott on Madrone Parkway to the report of a possible overdose. Kelly R. Tisdale, a 39-year-old El Dorado man, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office representative. Swing said the investigation is on hold pending toxicology results, but Tisdale’s death may have been a suicide, the result of his taking “an undetermined number of unknown pills.”
On Tuesday night, a 37-year-old Morgan Hill woman was transported to Kaiser Santa Teresa hospital after a one-car accident. Swing said the woman apparently had a seizure when she was driving at approximately 9:10pm.
“She managed to make it into the Target parking lot, then hit a tree, and the car flipped over,” he said. “She was driving on a suspended license, suspended because of her seizures.”
There were two passengers in the vehicle, but they were not injured, Swing added.
