Morgan Hill – The Morgan Hill A team took the longer route to put itself in the championship game of the Mustang Division Sectional All-Star tournament.

After suffering a tough 11-0 four-inning loss to Blossom Valley No. 1 on Wednesday, Morgan Hill rebounded.

It beat Los Altos-Mountain View No. 2 on Friday night to set up a rematch with Blossom Valley on Saturday.

Needing two wins to earn the championship and the one available berth in the Regional tournament, Morgan Hill played a much stronger game than it had in the semifinals against Blossom Valley.

Morgan Hill took the lead in the first inning when Ben Hughes reached on an error and eventually scored. Morgan Hill scored again in the second when Sam Aptekar reached on an error, stole second and scored on a hit by Brandon Duran.

Blossom Valley tied it in the fourth and took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth.

Morgan Hill put the tying run on third with one out in the sixth, but couldn’t manage to plate the run and Blossom Valley earned the win.
