The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce is undergoing a reorganization, according to new Executive Director Dan Ehrler.

And six-year veteran Sunday Minnich, who served as executive director for five years and director of special events for nearly a year, was told Thursday she was terminated from her job, effective immediately.

It is all part of a restructuring plan, Ehrler said. “I’m working on it literally as we’re speaking,” he said Monday.

Last week, Ehrler sent out a release announcing that Minnich would be leaving that day.

“It came as quite a shock,” Minich said Monday, “especially since the last Taste of Morgan Hill and the last Business Expo far exceeded the Chamber’s expectations.

“I’ve established a lot of friends, I’m close with a lot of the members. I wish I had had a chance to say good-bye.”

Chris Guisiana is also leaving the Chamber, effective Dec. 23. She will become CEO of the Cupertino Chamber.

“This happened before the restructuring,” Giusiana said Monday of the move.

Ehrler joined the Chamber Oct. 25. He had previously acted as director for Chambers of Commerce in El Segundo, Palm Desert, and Santa Cruz.
