Michael V. McShane passed away on Monday, November 23 at Stanford University Medical Center. He was 60 years old.

Mike was born in Torrance, CA and lived in Hollister for many years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Katherine; his parents, James and Florence McShane of Dixon; his brother, Patrick, of Vacaville, and brother, Mark and his wife Lisa, of Hollister; his children and their spouses, Jim and Yvette McShane of Hollister, and Shannon and Joe Bowman of San Juan Bautista; step-sons Zachary DeVoe of Hollister and Troy DeVoe and his wife, Susie, of Mentone; and his two beloved grandchildren, Michael James and Lauryn Inez McShane. His nieces Lisa Willhide and Theresa Hill of Colorado, and nephew Cody McShane of Hollister, were very close to his heart. He also had many step-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Mike was a kind, modest, and humble Christian who dearly loved his family and his country. He was a devoted father and husband. His greatest satisfaction in life was working hard and being a good provider for his family. He was always very optimistic about everything. Mike gently touched the lives of everyone who knew him, he was dearly loved, and he will be greatly missed by all.

Although Mike never served in the Military, he had great respect for our soldiers, and both his father and brother are Veterans. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send care packages to our soldiers fighting overseas, in memory of Mike.

A private memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life is pending.
