Michael Sean “Myk” Marsh died Aug. 21, 2003, at his Morgan Hill home ending a nine-month fight with lymphoma. He was 31.

Michael was a former 12-year employee of the Winchester Mystery House.

His love for reading and writing poetry became apparent soon after his graduation. He was a published poet winning awards for almost each poem he had written with such favorites as: “The Rat”, “MacGyver”, and “Mended Heart”.

Being an avid San Jose Sharks hockey fan, he and his mother never missed an opportunity to watch a game. He held season tickets and enjoyed going to their home games.

“Michael had a love for travel. He loved American History, Disneyland and Sci-Fi,” said Laura Vieyra, Myk’s cousin. “The first thing that would strike you about Myk was his dry sense of humor and his loyalty to his friends and family. His best friend was his mother.”

Myk’s sci-fi interest began at the age of 4 in 1976 with the release of Star Wars. He also enjoyed swapping Star Trek trivia with his father to see who had the most knowledge of the show. Typically, it was Myk.

Besides his mother, Lorraine, and his father, Jim, Michael is survived by a great-uncle, Henry Linde; aunts Jackie, JoAnn, Joan and Rae Ann; uncles, Sil and Rick; 10 first cousins and five second cousins.

His memory will always live through the lives of those he has touched with his special ways. He made his mark in our hearts forever.

You will never be forgotten Michael, for all the lives you have touched, thank you, and may God rest your soul. You have left us with wonderful memories and will always be at our sides.

Services were Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose.

The family asks that any donations be made to The American Cancer Society or The Friends of the National Park at Gettysburg, PO Box 4622, Gettysburg, PA 17325-4622
