Bands from Live Oak and Sobrato high schools, Martin Murphy and Britton middle schools and Jackson Academy of Math & Music perform March 29 during a free community concert.

Ann Sobrato High School’s gymnasium was invaded by aspiring musicians from all of Morgan Hill Unified School District’s secondary schools for a March 29 free community concert.
Bands from Sobrato and Live Oak high schools, Britton and Martin Murphy middle schools and Jackson Academy of Math & Music serenaded guests with full-fledged concert. It was the first time all the different music programs have gotten together for a big band extravaganza.
From the brass section that included French horns, tubas, trumpets and trombones to the woodwind sounds from the clarinets and flutes to the percussionists of drums and chimes, MHUSD’s music students performed in the joint production.
“Playing to a packed house, these students left it all on the gym floor as they played their hearts out,” reads a Facebook post by the Morgan Hill Unified School District page that also includes a short clip from the March 29 concert.
