school board of trustees will be a tight race among nine

the Santa Clara County school board, freeing a fifth seat at the
local level.

Trustees Shelle Thomas, Don Moody and Bart Fisher have officially thrown their hats into the ring to seek re-election, while Trustee Mike Hickey has decided not to run for another four-year term.
Wednesday at 5 p.m. was a prospective candidate’s final chance to file papers for any local election that will be decided Nov. 2.
Alongside the three incumbents who are running are six newcomers to the political arena.
Claudia Rossi is a mother of two and a former registered nurse before she became a stay-at-home mom.
Armando Benavides is a member of the Hispanic community group Coalition for Latino Education Achievement Defense or Co-LEAD and is a licensed attorney.
Ron Woolf taught in the district for almost 24 years and was also the principal at the Morgan Hill Adult School in the 1990s.
Bob Benevento, a 26-year resident of Morgan Hill is a parent and local small businessman.
Kirsten Francis Carr is a mother and community affairs director.
Brenda Cayme is a senior clinical manager.
