More than 300 local seniors enjoy a performance during the March 25 Harvey Barrett Dinner at the Morgan Hill Buddhist Hall.

Local Rotarians served up some grub for more than 300 senior citizens March 25 as part of the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill’s annual Harvey Barrett Senior Dinner at the Morgan Hill Buddhist Hall.
Hundreds of seniors enjoyed entertainment, food and fellowship. The dinner has been held at the hall for the past 34 years, according to the organizers.
The day’s entertainment featured a number of Morgan Hill performers, including the Fabulous Flappers, Dance With Passion, The Little Gym and the Ukuladies. Food was prepared by Rotarians, under the watchful eye of Rosy Bergin, owner of Rosy’s at the Beach. The entree for the day was a barbecued pork loin.
Service to the seniors was provided by a combination of high school students affiliated with local Interact clubs and Rotarians.
“This is a perfect example of an event which makes you feel so good about being a Rotarian,” Rotary Club of Morgan Hill President Theresa Kiernan commented. “It is a lot of work and that doesn’t matter. As soon as you see the sea of smiling and happy seniors enjoying the entertainment and meal, it is all worthwhile.”
