On Sunday, in a reversal of fortune from last week, the Morgan Hill Raiders held the ball for 27 of the 40 minutes, never giving the Oak Grove Razorbacks a chance.
From the first play of the game, with Taylor Turnipseed going 31 yards around the end, the Raiders were in control.
A play later Trevor Bearden went 26 yards for a touchdown.
The second quarter started with the Raiders capping off a 65-yard drive with Drew Glines going in from 19 yards for the score.
The half ended with a little trickery.
With seconds remaining and the Raiders facing fourth and long from the Razorback 36-yard line, Bearden dropped back in punt formation, took the snap and went around the left end and scampered the 36 yards for the score, leaving the game out of reach at 20-0.
In the second half the Raiders took the kick off and drove 61 yards, chewing up nine of the 10 minutes in the quarter.
On the drive, running backs Alex DellaMaggiore, Brandon Duran, Nick Havstad and Kyle Quadros shared the load.
The line of Efrain Gonzalez, Stevie Marquez, John Ziyada, Manny Luna, Joshua Acosta and David Corona provided consistent, clean blocking ensuring the Razorbacks were backed against the wall. But the drive ended in a missed field goal.
On defense, the charge was lead by Dalton Craig, who had one sack, Jacob LeDon was in on four tackles and had a sack. Justin Ide was in on four tackles, Rocky Wagener was in on three, and Alex Aguaristi and Joshua Acosta on four each.
Trevor Bearden and Joey Rodriguez each picked off a pass and Kyle Quadros landed on a fumble, ensuring the Razorbacks never got any momentum.
The defense had a light day, with the Razorbacks only running 5 plays in the second half, two of which being Raider interceptions.
