with pitcher Mitchell Pasek striking out the side in order. The
Cubs then jumped to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st on singles
by Andrew Bueno and Mitchell Pasek and a sacrifice by Adrian
Garcia. Pasek continued a strong performance in the 2nd inning,
striking out 2 and picking a runner off at 2nd base with a strong
throw to alert 2nd baseman Garcia when the runner took his
leadoff.

Cubs pitcher Pasek continued his strong performance with 3 strikeouts in the 3rd inning, holding the Cardinals scoreless. The Cards got back into the game with 2 runs in the 4th inning when the Cubs gave up 5 straight walks. Cubs pitcher Andrew Bueno then came in to record 2 strikeouts. The Cubs added a run in the 4th inning with a walk and an RBI single by Garcia. Cardinals pitcher Rydstrom then shut down the Cubs with 3 straight strikeouts. The Cubs added an insurance run on a single by Matt Jarvis and an RBI double by Bueno.

Key hits: The Yankees’ Alejandro Torres drove in five runs in the game and hit a bases-loaded triple in the first inning. Sean Martin drove in two runs with a double in the fourth inning for the Reds. The Yankees had a triple from Anthony Saso, as well as doubles from Gus Rubio and Zachary Herscovitch. Kyle Simmons, Jimmy Castro, and Jeremiah Dias each had three singles for the Yankees.
Steven Facio had a double and two singles for the Reds. Katrina Carter, Nino Fortuna, and Alex McKerrow each had three singles for the Reds.
Nice plays: Ethan Cox pitched very well for the Reds. Steven Facio and Sean Martin also pitched well for the Reds. Alejandro Torres and Anthony Saso pitched well for the Yankees. The Yankees also played well on defense.

Morgan Smith, Anthony Beltramo, and Troy Moorehead pitched well for the Indians and great infield defense by first baseman Albert Arias, second baseman Morgan Smith kept the innings short. Jasper Evans made a heads-up catch in the bottom of the fifth. Kyle Greenhalgh went three for three and scored once. Troy Moorehead hit two doubles and Steven Navarra went 4 for 4 scoring twice. Gage Alspach also hit a solid double and scored and Michael Felice went 3 for 3. For the Red Sox, Riely Burg pitched well and hit two doubles. Dylan Guiterez went 3 for 3. Ben Hagiperos pitched well and went 3 for 3 at the plate.
Centerfielder Wyatt Bunt made a great throw for a force out at second. Patrick Muller pitched and went 2 for 3 with a double. Ronnie Salinas went 3 for 3 scoring three times. Zach Riveron made a great catch at shortstop and tagged second for the double play. Kristen Knowels went two for two with 2 RBIs.
