The Morgan Hill Earthquakes 10U team swept its way through the Cal North Junior Cup Festival this past weekend, yielding just one goal through five games.
The tournament, also dubbed the Founders Cup, spanned two weekends, concluding this past Saturday with a 3-0 win to clinch the championship.
The Earthquakes outscored opponents 19-1, breezing through Bracket B pool play with 6-1, 7-0, 2-0 wins.
That put the Quakes in the single-elimination round, where they knocked off the Ebbetts Pass EPFC Gold Marshmallows, 1-0.
“The boys played extremely well, enduring freezing temperatures during bracket play Dec 7 and 8 and in their 1-0 win in the semifinal round the afternoon of Dec. 8,” said coach David Keegan.
That sets up the team for the championship game against the Delta Sharks on Dec. 14. The Earthquakes went through that game with a 3-0 win.
