Lose your slice by learning to ‘release’ your club

If you tend to slice the ball, you likely are not
“releasing” the club through impact. By that I mean you fail to
rotate your arms – right arm over left (for right handers)- through
the hitting area. The result is a weak shot that tails to the
right.

The keys to a proper release are simple: Start the downswing with your knees and hips, and keep your head behind the ball through impact. Also, keep your grip pressure fairly light and your forearms soft, allowing centrifugal force to speed the club through impact. Get these moves right and your arms will swing past your chest; the left arm folding and the right extending down the target line. This releasing action squares the club and produces powerful shots.
