SACRAMENTO – For Alexandra Evans, a seventh grader at Valley Christian, has done just about everything possible on the floor. And she is still looking for more.
She took the bronze medal at the Regional 1 gymnastics championships. She missed making it a three way tie for first place by .025.
Her all around score was 37.050 (gold was 37.075). She placed second on beam and floor.
Evans had an outstanding season. In three out of five regular meets she first place all-around and she placed first at the state championships. She just turned 13 April 11 and is already working on next years level nine routines.
Evans was featured in the San Jose Mercury Newspaper last month as a Bay Area Face for her accomplishments at a gymnastics meet in Coeur d’Alene Idaho.
She won the all around event there and went on to the finals where she placed first on vault and second on bars. Her awards were given to her by Amy Chow, Olympic Gold Medalist.
Alexandra spends 22+ hours at Almaden Valley Gymnastics Club and still maintains her 4.0 GPA.
She has a younger sister, Victoria, who is on the competition dance team at Lana’s Dance Studio. They are on their way to New York this summer.
