MORGAN HILL — Bowling a perfect game is rare. Tim Brown of Morgan Hill did so twice Aug. 10 in a USBC-sanctioned summer league contest at Morgan Hill Bowl. Brown sandwiched two 300 scores around a 204 effort in the same game, an impressive feat as well.

SOCCER

Lauren Schmidt of San Martin has been named captain of the 21-person Trinidad and Tobago team that will host next month’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

She takes over for Camille Borneo, who torn an anterior cruciate ligament during the team’s tour of Brazil in July. Borneo will miss the World Cup

Volleyball: United States Youth Volleyball League is holding registration for its fall season, which will run for eight weeks starting in September at Paradise Park in Morgan Hill.

The USYVL is an instructional league that operates in coed format for boys and girls ages 7-15. Every child plays and learns the game with emphasis on sportsmanship, cooperation and teammwork.

MEN’S RUGBY

WOMEN’S FLAG FOOTBALL

A women’s flag football league has started in Morgan Hill for ages 18-30. Women are invited to come to the Outdoor Sports Center at 6 p.m. Wednesday to try the 4-on-4 no-contact game for free. Those interested can call (408) 778-3900 for more information.

PONY BASEBALL

Morgan Hill Pony Baseball is currently accepting signups for its fall season. Registration can be done online at www.mhpb.org. Players can sign up for all divisions: Shetland, ages 5-6; Pinto, 7-8; Mustang 9 and 10, Bronco 11 and 12, and Pony 13 and 14.
